Belle of the Ball

The Mount Ida College Fashion Association (MIFA) ran a prom dress drive on campus to donate for Belle of the Ball. When local high school girls hunt for dresses and shoes during Belle of the Ball this weekend, they may choose from clothing and accessories donated by Mount Ida students.

Belle of the Ball cleans and distributes prom dresses and provides related accessories at no charge to high school junior and senior girls who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend their school’s prom. Beginning in 2005 as a community relations initiative for Anton’s Cleaners, the program has grown to inviting over 500 young ladies for an indulgent day of prom “shopping,” beauty tips, and prizes.

MIFA collected over 20 dresses and pairs of shoes for the initiative and will be volunteering at Belle of the Ball Boutique Day on Saturday, April 7.
