The Mount Ida College Police Department provides you a broad range of safety services and training opportunities for our community, including:
Uniformed Patrol Services
Mount Ida Police maintain patrols of the campus on foot, on mountain bike and in marked cruisers. The routine patrols provide a visible deterrence to crime and readily deployable assistance to the college community as needed.
Reporting and Investigation Services
Mount Ida Police investigate all crimes and accidents that occur within the college boundaries. The department will work with any outside law enforcement agencies conducting investigations on college property. Never hesitate to report an issue to the Mount Ida College Police Department.
Mount Ida Police provide escorts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., seven days a week. Get an escort by contacting Public Safety at (617) 928-4777 from your mobile phone or at x4777 on a campus landline phone.
Emergency Medical Services
Mount Ida Police provide initial medical response to the entire Mount Ida campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and is equipped with full medical supplies, including oxygen and AED’s (automated external defibrillators). All officers are trained in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 111 Section 201. For non-emergency medical treatment, the Student Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call (617) 928-4599 to make an appointment.
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.)
Co-sponsored with the Division of Student Affair’s sponsored, Students Advocating Violence Education (SAVE) program, R.A.D., is designed for women to enhance self-awareness, practice physical defense techniques, and educate about sexual violence and typically is offered twice during the school year.
