Mount Ida College

From Potential to Achievement

Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America is the national organization that oversees veterinary technicians, their careers and credentialing requirements, among other things. This is the professional organization that all veterinary technicians belong to and offers a membership to vet tech students. Each veterinary technology program in the U.S. that is accredited by the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) has such a chapter that is run by the students and guided by a Faculty Advisor.

The Mount Ida College student chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), also known as the Mount Ida College Veterinary Technology Association, was named the top Veterinary Technology Program Student Chapter in the country in 2004. It continues to be one of the largest and most active student clubs on campus holding many social events during the year for vet tech students and successfully plans multiple animal related community service projects each semester.
