Grants
Grants are awards at the federal, state or college level and are always based on financial need. They result in automatic reductions to your tuition bill and do not require repayment of any kind.
Mount Ida College Grant
The College awards the Mount Ida Grant to students who are enrolled full-time and demonstrate financial need on the FAFSA. Mount Ida College Grant awards range from approximately $500 to $5,000 per academic year.
Federal Pell Grant
The federal government provides the Pell Grant and eligibility is determined by the financial information included on your FAFSA. Pell Grant funding is set by the federal government each year. Current awards range from $659 to $5,500 per academic year.
Federal SEOG
The federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is a federally and college funded program that is generally awarded only to those students eligible for a Pell Grant.
State Grants
State grants are based on financial need and may be offered to eligible students from their state of legal residence. Students should observe the application procedures and deadlines imposed by their own state. (For example, the Massachusetts state grant deadline is May 1st.) Many states - such as Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont - have reciprocal scholarship agreements with Massachusetts; please contact your state agency for information regarding eligibility.
Massachusetts Gilbert Grant
The Gilbert Grant is awarded to full-time students whose state of legal residence is Massachusetts. Recipients of this grant are eligible based on financial need and availability of funds. Awards range from $500 to $2,500 per year.
