Health Center

The Health Center offers confidential medical care and gynecological services to all Mount Ida students. The staff includes nurse practitioners and a part-time physician equipped to handle most of the medical problems college students encounter. If a referral to a specialist is needed, arrangements can be made from the Health Center to one of the many physicians in the Boston area.

Confidentiality
All medical information in a student’s record is kept confidential and will not be released to anyone (including parents) without your permission. Also, medical information shared by you during a medical visit is also confidential. You are responsible for notifying your parent or guardian regarding any health issues. An authorization form to release medical information to any other person is obtained prior to any disclosures.

All students must complete a Health Examination Report. Please forward the form to:

Please note that Page 4 contains immunizations required by Massachusetts State Law. All students are required to provide a certificate of immunization. The month, day and year must be recorded and the form signed by your health care provider. A blood test indicating a positive title may be substituted.

The Health Examination Report is due into the Health Center by August 1st.  Your registration in Mount Ida College will not be completed until this Health Examinatin Report is received.  Furthermore, students who do not submit a completed health examination report form will be not be permitted to reside in the residence halls until the form is complete.

Overnight medical care is available at the Wellesley College Infirmary. When students require hospitalization, they are sent to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
