Funeral Home Management
NEI is currently one of the few institutions to offer you a bachelor degree in funeral home management.
Our Funeral Home Management program incorporates much of what is learned in a traditional two-year funeral service program and adds specialized courses that focus on business management and business expansion. In addition to the standard professional courses required by the American Board of Funeral Service Education and for successful completion of the National Board Examination which is administered by the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, this degree features a unique combination of advanced funeral service, business, and bereavement courses. It is the perfect blend of what today and tomorrow’s funeral service practitioner need.
Comparable two-year programs from accredited institutions may also be considered for transfer into the Funeral Home Management program.

American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE)
The Funeral Home Management Degree (FNM) degree at the New England Institute at Mount Ida College is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) 3414 Ashland Avenue, Suite G, St. Joseph, Missouri 64506; (816) 233-3747; web site: www.abfse.org. The annual passage rate of first-time takers on the National Board Examination (NBE) for the most recent three-year period for this institution and all ABFSE accredited funeral service education programs is posted on the ABFSE web site. There are now three NEI programs accredited by the ABFSE. The non-funeral service Bereavement Studies (FBS) degree is not accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.
