Student Activities
The Office of Student Activities at Mount Ida College fosters student development by providing social, educational and cultural co-curricular programs. We strive to enhance leadership skills by offering opportunities to become involved with student government, campus programming board, orientation and leadership development workshops.
There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society, with a larger segment of people in that society, who feel that they have no stake in it; who feel that they have nothing to lose. People who have a stake in their society, protect that society, but when they don't have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it.
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Activities Team (CAT) are the core organizations of the Student Activities Office and are run entirely by students with the advisement from the professional staff. This office also oversees Welcome Week, Homecoming and Family Weekend, Spring Weekend, Emerging Leaders and other leadership programs and events.
The Office of Student Activities is located in the student center in Shaw Hall in Shaw 1 and 2. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is also home to Shaw 3 Computer Lounge and Wingate Den. The student offices, located in Shaw 25 and 26, provides space for clubs and organizations to hold meetings and work on projects.
