Commuter Services
Because Mount Ida’s campus is so convenient to Route 95/128, Route 90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) and Boston’s MBTA subway system, some students opt to live at home with their families or to live off-campus in the Boston area. Our commuting students are an important part of the Mount Ida community, and commuter involvement in all organizations and activities is encouraged. In addition, several events throughout the school year are planned with commuter interest and schedules in mind.
A commuter lounge in the Shaw Student Center provides space for commuters to spend time between classes and meet with other students, complete with comfortable furniture, a microwave, Internet access and a campus phone. Plus, our free shuttle bus runs between the campus and the Newton Centre "T" stop (on the Green Line), making getting to and from Mount Ida (and getting around Boston) even easier for the commuters and residents alike.
