Post-Baccalaureate Licensure for Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, (PreK-8)
Mount Ida College’s Office of Continuing Education offers an additional license to educators: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8). This five-credit license track prepares educators to work with diverse students with moderate disabilities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
Admission Requirements
- Submit the Continuing Education Application Form with payment
- Send all official transcripts (must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Field of Education)
- Send a copy of Initial or Professional License in Field of Education
- Submit passing scores on the Massachusetts Teacher Educator Licensure Tests (MTEL) in:
• Communication & Literacy• Foundations of Reading or Reading Specialist Subject Matter Test• General Curriculum Subject Matter Test• Middle School Mathematics Subject Matter Test OR• Elementary School Mathematics Subject Matter Test OR• Mathematics Subject Matter Test OR• General Curriculum Mathematics Subtest
