A Message from the President

Dear Graduating Students, Families and Friends,

The past academic year at Mount Ida has flown by with great speed. As surprising as it seems, we now look forward to the graduation of our degree recipients on Commencement day, Friday, May 17, 2013. This year Commencement exercises will take place under tents on the campus lawn behind Shaw Hall. The program will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a light lunch for graduates and their guests.

Commencement is a day we all look forward to with much anticipation and excitement. The day marks an important milestone for our students whose hard work is recognized by family, friends and the entire Mount Ida community. We are so proud of what our students have accomplished and what they are about to achieve.

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees will be honoring three individuals for their notable accomplishments: Paul Grogan, President of the Boston Foundation, Anita Hill, Professor of Social Policy, Law and Women’s Studies at Brandeis University, and the Honorable Setti Warren, Mayor of Newton. Each individual will receive an honorary degree from the College in recognition of their achievements. Mayor Warren will deliver the Commencement address.

Congratulations to our graduating students for what you have accomplished. Our thanks, as well, to family and friends for the support you have given our students who will be receiving their well-earned degrees. We look forward to a future filled with opportunity and promise for each of your graduates.

My very best regards,

Barry Brown
President
