Associate of Arts in Dental Hygiene
The Associate in Arts Dental Hygiene program consists of four consecutive full-time semesters. The curriculum combines general college courses with dental science classes and laboratory work all in the College’s state-of-the-art dental center. Students gain additional clinical experience in their second year at externship sites such as Boston University Dental School, Tuft’s College of Dental Medicine and community health centers. These sites provide several dental care settings offering a wide variety of cultural diversity and patients such as special needs and children. Small class sizes lead to exceptional individual instruction, preparing students for national and regional examinations. This program requires the successful completion of prerequisite courses which include Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Fundamentals of Chemistry and Microbiology, all with labs and Composition and Literature I and II. Other required general education courses are Psychology, Sociology and Public Speaking.
