Dr. Pearl Steinbuch is the Interim School Director and Program Director for the Business Administration program. She joined Mount Ida College in 2003 as an Associate Professor of Business Administration and was promoted to Full Professor with tenure in 2007.
She held her first academic position at St. John’s University in New York, College of Business Administration where she taught both undergraduate and MBA students. Dr. Steinbuch’s industry experience began at American Airlines/Sabre Decision Technologies as a consultant. Her international assignments included many countries in Europe, South Africa and a long term assignment in Paris. Upon returning to the US, she was promoted to District Manager: American Airlines - Chicago and later moved to Boston to take the position of Corporate Development Manager for Sabre. She culminated her industry experience at an Oracle Corporation subsidiary.
Since joining Mount Ida, Steinbuch has published three book reviews in The Leadership and Organization Development Journal. She presented her work, “Off -Shoring and Ricardo’s Theory of Comparative Advantage” at the 2005 Annual Meeting of the Association for Global Business. Dr. Steinbuch presented “Distributional Effects of Reducing the Gender Based Wage Gap” at the 2006 Business and Economics Society International Conference. Her paper was selected among the top submissions for publication in the Association’s Anthology. In addition, Dr. Steinbuch is an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for Scientific Journals International, an Editorial Reviewer for Management Decisions, Journal of The International Society of Business Disciplines and The Journal of Current Research in Global Business. From student nominations, Dr. Steinbuch’s biography has been published in the 9th Edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, 2004 – 2005 and received the distinction of Multiple Year Honoree for the 2005-2006 10th edition.
Dr. Steinbuch holds an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a master's degree from Harvard University. She has also earned a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from the Wharton School of Business.
