Dr. True has served Mount Ida College as Vice President for Student Affairs since 2003 and previously held the position of Dean of Students at the College. Prior to her Mount Ida tenure, Dr. True served as Associate Dean for Campus Life at Castleton State College in Vermont and held positions in Residence Life at Cornell University and the University of Maine.

Dr. True received her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont. Her dissertation, “A Reconstruction of Feminist Identity Development in College Women” involved a qualitative study of the cognitive and psychosocial development of college women.

Dr. True served as State Coordinator of the American Council of Education National Network of Women Leaders in both Massachusetts and Vermont. She is a member of the New England Research Center on Higher Education Student Affairs Think Tank. An active member and former state chair of the American College Personnel Association as well as a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Dr. True chaired registration for the 2008 NASPA National Convention Committee.

Dr. True teaches a section of CC101 in the fall semester.  She also co-advises the College’s Outing Club, Mount Ida College Outdoors, and volunteers with students at many civic engagement and service events. She is actively involved with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange, the annual MICO/Charles River clean-up project, and the Second Step Shelter in Newton.

Recent presentations include a workshop at the First Year Experience Conference in Phoenix, Arizona titled "Managing Millennial Parents" and a workshop on College Student Services for Students Who Age Out of Foster Care at the NASPA Region 1 conference.
