Mount Ida College offers a comprehensive and competitive program of benefits designed to attract, retain and support a qualified faculty and staff.
The following is a summary of the Mount Ida College benefit programs and plans. Additional information about these benefits may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources. Mount Ida College reserves the right to adopt, amend or terminate any policies or regulations related to the College's benefit programs as necessary.
Health Insurance Full time employees are eligible to participate in the College's health insurance benefit through Tufts Health Plan. The College offers the Tufts HMO or Tufts POS plans. The employee premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Effective: Date of hire
Dental Insurance Full time employees are eligible to participate in the College's dental insurance benefit through Delta Dental. The College offers the Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier plan. The employee premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Effective: Date of hire
Vision Insurance Full time employees are eligible to participate in the College's vision insurance benefit through EyeMed. The College offers the EyeMed Select Plan. The employee premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis. Effective: Date of hire
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Full time employees are eligible for life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage through Lincoln Financial Group. Coverage is provided in the amount equal to 1 1/2 times base salary or $250,000, whichever is greater. This benefit is fully paid by the College. Effective: 1st of month after date of hire
Supplemental Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Full time employees are eligible to elect supplemental life insurance through Lincoln Financial Group. Employees may elect up to five times their base salary up to a maximum of $500,000 in supplemental life insurance. Eligible employees may also elect to buy life insurance for a spouse, domestic partner, and/or dependent children. Premiums for supplemental life insurance are paid by the employee. Proof of insurability may be required.
Long Term Disability Full time employees are eligible for Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance through Lincoln Financial Group. The LTD benefit provides for 2/3 salary continuation after 180 days of total disability. This plan is fully paid by the College. Effective: 1st of month after date of hire
Retirement Plan Full time employees who work at least 1000 hours in a calendar year and who have completed one year of service are eligible for the College's Retirement Plan through TIAA-CREF. The College will contribute 1% of an employee's salary to a retirement plan.
403B Supplemental Retirement Plan The College provides the opportunity for all employees to save for retirement on a voluntary basis through a 403(b) supplemental plan. Supplemental investment plans are available through TIAA-CREF and Fidelity Investments.
Flexible Spending Accounts Full time employees are eligible to participate in the Flexible Spending Account program. A Flexible Spending Account allows employees to pay for out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent care expenses with tax free dollars. The College offers two types of FSA's: a Medical FSA and a Dependent Care FSA. The maximum allowable contribution for a Medical FSA is $2,000 and the maximum allowable contribution for a Dependent Care FSA is $5,000. The College's Flexible Spending plans are administered by Crosby Benefit Systems. Effective: 1st of month after date of hire
Paid Time Off (Staff) The College provides eligible employees with paid time off including vacation, sick time and personal time.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) The College offers an Employee Assistance Program through AllOne Health (employees should contact HR for the username/password). The EAP provides an array of services to employees and their families including Confidential Counseling Services, Information and Referral Services, Financial Assistance Services, Legal Assistance Services as well as web-based tools and online information. The program is provided to employees free of charge.
Tuition Programs & Education Benefits Mount Ida College encourages and supports the continuing education of our staff and their families and therefore provides several tuition programs. Each family member may receive a benefit from only one program per semester. The College provides the following tuition programs:
- Tuition Remission - The Tuition Remission program provides 100% tuition remission for undergraduate courses or up to $2,000 per calendar year for graduate courses taken at Mount Ida College. Full-time, benefit eligible employees, their spouse, domestic partner and/or dependent children are eligible to participate in the Tuition Remission Program.
- Tuition Reimbursement - The College maintains a fund to encourage and assist employees in their continuing education and in the completion of requirements for advanced degrees. Tuition reimbursement benefits are available for courses taken at colleges and universities other than Mount Ida College. Full-time, benefit-eligible employees who have been employed at the College for at least six months are eligible to participate in the Tuition Reimbursement program. The College will reimburse up to $1,000 per semester for tuition fees of courses taken at other institutions, up to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year.
- Tuition Exchange Program - Mount Ida College participates in the Tuition Exchange Program, Inc. (TE). Current full time employees, faculty and staff, with at least three years of service at Mount Ida College are eligible to apply for the Tuition Exchange Program on behalf of their dependent child. Only one dependent per family may participate in the TE program at a time.
