Mount Ida College Board of Trustees Names Newton Business Man David Brezniak Trustee

Newton, MA – The Board of Trustees of Mount Ida College is pleased to announce that it has unanimously voted David Brezniak, Founder and Co-Director of Brezniak-Rodman Funeral Directors, Inc. in Newton, Massachusetts, as its newest trustee for a three year term, effective September 20, 2012.
Barry Brown, President of Mount Ida College stated, “David has been at the forefront of the funeral home management business in the Newton and Greater Boston area for many years. He is a humanitarian and deeply interested in the education of America’s youth. His entrepreneurial spirit will enrich our signature programs at New England Institute at Mount Ida, which are top destinations for students and professionals in the funeral home management industry.”
Michael Burns, Chair of Mount Ida College’s Board of Trustees added, “David is a fourth generation funeral director, who has served thousands of local families with compassion, kindness and dignity. His deep roots in the community, along with his proven leadership and industry experience will be indispensable to our Board.”
David Brezniak is Founder and Co-Director of Brezniak-Rodman Funeral Directors, Inc., an independently owned and operated funeral home established in 1992, and known for its reputation for providing a variety of high quality services, including full service funeral direction and chapel service. Previously, David, like many funeral home directors, worked for many years alongside his father, the late Morris W. Brezniak, in their family-operated funeral home, Levine Chapel in Brookline, Massachusetts, which was originally founded in 1893 in Boston’s North End by David’s great grandfather. David also plays leadership roles in a number of professional and religious associations, including The National Independent Jewish Funeral Directors of America and Canada, The National Board of Funeral Service Examiners, Beth Jacob Synagogue, and was appointed by Governor Mitt Romney in 2005 to the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, serving as Chairman. David holds a degree from the New England Institute and is a member of Mount Ida’s President’s Council.
