Fashionistas: Tickets Now on Sale for Annual Fashion Show, “Pulse”

April 9, 2012

From the classroom to the catwalk, the stakes are higher than ever for student fashion designers in the School of Design’s Annual Fashion Show. Every spring, fashionistas, families, and friends flock to the Boston Center for the Arts to see students’ cutting-edge designs and emerging trends. This year’s much anticipated fashion show, “Pulse”, is on Saturday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. at 539 Tremont Street, Boston. Presale tickets may be purchased online; general admission is $20.00, at the door, $28.00.

"Innovation and the Unexpected"

“You are going to see lots of innovation and the unexpected on the runway this year,” said Dr. Phyllis Misite, Professor and Director of the Fashion Design program. “For our participating students, this show is experiential learning at its best and I’m really proud. Our fashion design students understand the pressure, hard work and know-how required to execute a big show like this—a huge advantage when they pursue their careers in fashion.”

Distinguished Fashion Design Panel

For budding fashion designers, this student-run event offers the chance to be seen by industry professionals scouting for new talent. Approximately 40 student fashion designers from freshman to seniors will show off their work to a panel of jurists. The distinguished and talented fashion design panel includes:

  • Bill Downey, Fashion Photographer;
  • Kathy Benharris, Fashion Show Event Producer;
  • Yolanda Celluci, Yolanda Enterprises, Inc.; and
  • Jay Calderin, Founder of Boston Fashion Week.
