A Warm Mustang Welcome for the Class of 2016

Accepted Student Day 2012
Mount Ida College was bustling with admitted high school seniors and their families on Saturday, March, 24, 2012 for Accepted Student Day. This day-long event from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. not only gave prospective students the chance to meet our current students, faculty, and staff, they also were invited to explore their soon-to-be campus home.
Going Beyond the Classroom
As soon as students arrived on campus, they were greeted by admissions counselors, financial aid representatives, current students, faculty, and staff who spoke with them directly about our academic programs. Throughout the day, pretzels, popcorn and other refreshments were served to students and their families as they discovered our co-curricular offerings, such as Diverse Students United, the Campus Activities Team, Intramural Sports, and many more clubs and student activities. In gaining first-hand knowledge of our programs and clubs, students were able to connect with their future classmates and start thinking about where they see themselves in the fall.
Exploring the Campus Flavor
Prospective students got a real taste of our campus during lunch with President Carluccio. He chatted with students and their families while introducing them to one of Mount Ida’s popular spots: Wingate Dining Hall. In addition to visiting our cafeteria, the Class of 2016 got a sneak preview into campus life through trolleys tours to Residence Halls, Longfellow Preschool, Hallden Center, Wadsworth Library, Tennis Courts, Main Field and Carlson Hall. Some of our prospective students even met Mighty the Mustang at our action-packed women’s lacrosse game. Before the day was out, green and white were must-have colors as students piled into the bookstore to pick up Mount Ida gear.
Becoming a Mustang
The Accepted Student Day event allowed prospective students to get a sense of what it’s really like to be a Mustang. In the coming months, accepted students can continue the conversation with their future classmates on the Class of 2016’s Facebook.
