This book is a must-read for designers, researchers and people who appreciate unforgettable design. “Congratulations to Prof. Lewis Kausel on the publication of her new book. The thoughtful analysis, passion and energy leaping from the pages reflect the creativity and dedication we see in our faculty here at Mount Ida College,” stated Dr. Ellen Beaulieu, Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Prof. Lewis Kausel stated, “There are visual harmonies between architecture and the crafts. In some important buildings of history, a connection between an interior space and the mind can be discerned. I wanted to explain this connection, and my first step has been to illustrate my vision of design. These harmonies are not normally seen in basic everyday experience, and thus it was necessary to draw them. It has also been necessary to write in order to explain the phenomena; and that’s how this book’s topic began. I wrote the book primarily for design students, but it is a topic that will interest readers of many backgrounds.”
