Mount Ida College to Expand and Reshape Summer Programming; More Academic Programs, Professional Development Conferences/Events and Specialized Summer Camp Offerings
December 8, 2011
Newton, MA—Mount Ida College, the private, co-educational college offering a challenging education that blends the liberal arts with professional preparation, announced today that it is reshaping and expanding its summer programming on campus. Changes include the development of expanded academic offerings for traditional college students and adult learners, a wider variety of professional development conferences and events and more specialized summer camp offerings. The expanded programming will take effect between the summers of 2012 and 2013.
“For decades, Mount Ida College has been a summer destination for students, professionals and day campers. We are delighted to make this tradition even more exciting by further expanding our academic, professional and recreational program offerings to better meet the changing needs of our neighbors in Metrowest, Boston and beyond,” stated Dr. Lance Carluccio, President, Mount Ida College.
The College expects to roll out new academic programs and professional development conference and event offerings in two waves between the summers of 2012 and 2013. Effective summer 2012, the College will continue offering its lower camp program for children ages three-and-a-half to five years old at its Longfellow Pre-School facility on campus, and no longer offer its camp programs for children ages six to 13. The College expects to offer more specialized camps for older children and teenagers for summer 2013. Families who planned to attend the middle and upper camp programs this summer are being informed, offered assistance and invited to return to explore our new summer camp offerings in summer 2013.
