Mount Ida College Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Qiongzhou University; Partnership to Cultivate Educational and Research Opportunities for Faculty and Students

Dr. Carluccio and Dr. Yong sign the Memorandum of Understanding
Newton, MA—Mount Ida College today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Cooperation with Qiongzhou University of Sanya, China. As part of the memorandum, the two institutions agree to cooperate in a number of areas, including joint research and educational activities, exchange of faculty and students for study and research as well as plans for a possible accelerated 3+1+1 bachelor through master degree program.
The Memorandum was signed by the President of Mount Ida College, Dr. Lance Carluccio and Chairman of University Council of Qiongzhou University, Dr. Wei Yong. Also present at the signing ceremony were Mount Ida’s Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Ellen Beaulieu and Business Professor Dr. Liang Tang and Qiongzhou University’s Provost Zhang Hongbin, Director of International Office Wei Jing, Dean Yang Ziju of the School of Humanities, Dean Lin Chixian of School of Biological Science and Dean Jin Hailong of the School of Hospitality.
Dr. Lance Carluccio, President of Mount Ida College stated, “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with Qiongzhou University offers our respective institutions increased opportunities for our faculty and students to research, study and work abroad. For Mount Ida, this MOU further strengthens our ongoing initiatives to globalize the College’s programming, better preparing our students for the opportunities and challenges of the global economy.”
Dr. Wei Yong, Chairman of University Council stated, “Creating this important academic link with Mount Ida College broadens the opportunities of our University’s faculty and students to state-of-the-art developments in higher education and provides valuable support and assistance for staff and resource development. We look forward to a mutually cooperative and productive relationship.”
