Mount Ida College's Office of Development Proudly Announces the Establishment of “The David Healy Business Lecture”
July 22, 2011
After nine years of dedicated leadership and service, David Healy, VP of Finance and Administration, announced his retirement earlier this year.
Newton, MA –Earlier this year, Vice President of Finance and Administration David Healy announced he would retire in early August. Since then, the College has received many kind requests to recognize Mr. Healy’s nine years of dedicated service. This week, the Office of Development announced the establishment of “The David Healy Business Lecture” to do just that.
This annual event will bring business leaders to campus to speak to Mount Ida business students and the College community as a complement to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum of the School of Business. “The David Healy Business Lecture” will introduce students to various careers and leaders, who will speak on current issues and challenges in the business world. The lecture also will serve to strengthen connections between Mount Ida College and the business community.
In addition, to Mr. Healy’s leadership within Finance and Administration, he also has served as Acting Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations. While Healy’s chief priority has been on successfully guiding the College’s finances, he always has focused on our students and Mount Ida’s mission of empowering students to achieve academically and contribute responsibly in a changing world. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to students through his teaching in the School of Business and as coach to the men’s club baseball team.
The Board of Trustees also has named Healy Treasurer Emeritus in recognition of his great service. The College is pleased that Mr. Healy will continue in his adjunct faculty role within the School of Business.
