Mount Ida College to Host Upcoming National Funeral Directors Association Seminar Featuring Dr. Thomas G. Long and Mr. Thomas Lynch

On April 6, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mount Ida College’s New England Institute is hosting a seminar sponsored by the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) called “The Good Death, Good Grief, Good Funerals; Finding Our Place on the Continuum of Care”.
The seminar, designed for clergy, hospice and health care professionals, educators and funeral care directors will focus on strategies for better serving the dying, the dead and the bereaved. The cost of the seminar is $50.00 per person and will feature two nationally renowned speakers:
Dr. Thomas G. Long is the Bandy Professor of Preaching at Chandler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of many books including, The Witness of Preaching and Accompany Them with Singing: The Christian Funeral.
Mr. Thomas Lynch is a writer and funeral from Milford, Michigan. He has taught with the Graduate Program in Creative Writing at University of Michigan. His books include The Undertaking, which became an Emmy Award-winning PBS documentary by the same name
