Campus Facilities
The College has been making improvement and investments in its facilities, which enable dramatic reductions in the consumption of energy.
- Guided by an analysis done by the College’s HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) contractor, a program of replacing/eliminating older boilers with new high efficiency and computer controlled systems has been put into place, which has already created major savings in consumption ($50,000 annually).
- There is an ongoing program of providing motion detector light switches in academic buildings to reduce light consumption.
- New roofing/insulation projects have provided increased insulation.
- The College is a recent member of HEFA, the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority, PowerOptions Program, which allows it to negotiate more favorable rates on utilities and more efficient delivery of utility services.
