Founded in 1907, the New England Institute (NEI) has been part of Mount Ida College since 1989. At Mount Ida, NEI has continued its long and distinguished history, growing and changing as the role of the death care provider in the community has continued to evolve. Over the past one hundred years NEI has grown into the true thanatalogical authority that it is today, providing the very best education for all aspects of care.

NEI emphasizes the importance of a well-rounded education - exposing students to traditional liberal arts courses like Composition, Literature and Psychology, as well as specific industry-related courses. As executive director, Jacquelyn S. Taylor joins a long history of unparalleled leadership of NEI and the advancements within the last few years have truly positioned the College as the leader in death, dying, and bereavement.

As one of the oldest institutions in the country, NEI has always been known for its progressive approach to funeral service education. Our distinguished faculty is comprised of experts in the field, each of whom bring an in-depth knowledge of their respective disciplines. Plus, our state-of-the-art funeral service facility includes specialized training centers, classrooms and the Dodge Auditorium.

Timothy brings over 20 years of experience in the funeral service industry to NEI at Mount Ida College. As a licensed funeral director, he teaches courses in social foundations of funeral service, funeral directing, funeral service law & ethics, and cross cultural perspectives on death.
