Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Assessment
Mission
The purpose of CELTA is to support the College goal to achieve external recognition of excellence through continuous evaluation and improvement of student learning, teaching and assessment. CELTA builds upon Mount Ida College’s long-standing efforts to improve student learning, and supports an atmosphere in which evidence is used to demonstrate teaching and administrative excellence, and where teaching and administrative practice is valued and rewarded.
Part-time and full-time faculty members, and staff members from all college divisions, engage in CELTA events as participants and facilitators, as teaching coaches and resource creators, as well as sources of inquiry seeking to identify approaches and factors that hold promise to increase student learning. Contributors endeavor to implement and evaluate methods to increase students learning.
