Saving a Word 2007 Document (.docx) in Word 2003 Format (.doc)
If you use the new Word 2007 to
complete your assignments, your professor may not be able to open or read
your assignment!
Word 2007 is a very new version of the program and saves
your assignments in a new format, .docx. Your professor may not have a compatible
version of Word on their home or work computer, or if they use a Mac, they
may not be able to open it at all
To ensure that your professor
can grade your assignments, you MUST save
your Word 2007 documents (.docx) as Word 97-2003 documents (.doc). Please
follow the instructions below to save them in the proper format.
| STEP ONE |
| After writing your assignment in Word 2007, click on the
Microsoft Office icon at the top-left corner of the screen. |
|
|
| STEP TWO |
| Move your mouse over "Save As." Click on "Word
97-2003 Document" in the menu that appears to the right. |
|
| STEP THREE |
| Type the name of your file and save it on your computer where
you normally would. Your file is now in the proper format and should
