History: Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is an independent undergraduate and graduate college in Newton, Massachusetts with a legacy of innovative approaches to meet the changing needs of students and the world.

Accreditation: Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Individual programs are accredited by specific industry associations.

Character: Private, co-educational undergraduate and graduate institution. Small classes led by dedicated faculty whose primary focus is teaching. Commitment to practical learning blended with the advantages of a liberal arts education.

Enrollment: Approximately 1,500 full- and part-time students from more than 25 states and 35 countries.

Location: Newton, Massachusetts; eight miles (13 km) from downtown Boston with convenient access to downtown Boston and the region via public transportation. Newton has twice been ranked "America's Safest City."

Campus: 72-acre suburban setting; 23 buildings including six residence halls. Over 900 students live on campus or in campus-sponsored housing. 

Athletics: 15 NCAA Division III varsity athletics, IHSA equestrian, club baseball, and intramural sports. Recent division champions in men's lacrosse and women's equestrian.

Financing Your Education: Need-based and merit-based; scholarships, grants, loans and work-study.
