Mount Ida College School of Design Faculty Exhibit 2006
The Gallery Hosts Artist Reception for Faculty Exhibit
The Gallery at Mount Ida College hosted an artists’ reception to honor the exhibition of recent artwork by School of Design faculty on Thursday, September 21, 2006. Attendants at Thursday's event filled The Gallery for the talk given by the artists.
Professors Maria Vitagliano, Erica Adams, and Hans Christian Lischewski spoke about the techniques used to create, and the impetus behind, their works. Other featured artists, including Professors John Tricomi and Kathleen Driscoll, answered questions from the crowd. This varied-media exhibit features everything from traditional to experimental forms of art, and runs through October 22, 2006.
"This exhibit was an exciting opportunity for students and the community to see the creativity, innovation and passion the School of Design faculty bring to the classroom," said Kathleen Driscoll, director of The Gallery. "It is their passion for art that encourages and inspires our students to discover and develop their own artistic ability."
Junior Natasha Alam, a fashion design major, echoed the statement, saying, "It's interesting to see what the professors do with their talents outside the classroom. I always try to come when they have a show."
Faculty members on display included Tom Bowling, Bo Breda, Kathleen Cleary Brennan, Connie Chen, Laura Coulter, Ezra Cove, Kathleen Driscoll, Sally Fine, Rachel Hellmann, Bill Kipp, Milan Klic, Ronnie Komarow, Peter Lipsitt, Hans Christian Lischewski, Phyllis Misite, Michelle Muhlbaum-Aviksis, Elizabeth Cole Sheehan, Joan Ada Scott, John Tricomi, Judith Veronesi, Maria Vitagliano, Susan Wheelock, and Tamotsu Yamamoto.
