Mount Ida College

From Potential to Achievement

Senior Veterinary Technology Students

One of the most renowned aspects of the Veterinary Technology Program at Mount Ida College is the Senior Internship Program. Refered to as Clinical Rotations, each student in the Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology degree program chooses 6 internships to participate in during their senior year. Each internship is approximately 5 weeks long and provides the student with the ability to work in the field practicing most of their clinical skills in a wide variety of facilities. Internship sites include all areas of veterinary medicine such as companion animal hospitals, large animal and equine clinics, biomedical research facilities, emergency and specialty practices as well as zoos, aquariums and wildlife centers. Students may choose to do their internships at any approved faciity anywhere in the country. Some students may even choose to go abroad at locations such as the London Zoo and the Center for Wildlife Ecology in South Africa.
