Student Association for Latino and Spanish Americans (S.A.L.S.A.)
Purpose:
The purpose of “S.A.L.S.A.” is to educate the college community about the different cultures that exist amongst the Latino community by promoting their different music, food, dialects, and traditions. We teach about different dances, historical backgrounds and people. S.A.L.S.A is dedicated to introducing, educating, and engaging the Hispanic culture to the community. Our mission is to help the community understand, get in involved, and help spread the Hispanic culture. S.A.L.S.A does many activities that involve different Spanish speaking countries. We are always looking for new traditions to bring to Mount Ida and the surrounding community, therefore we are open to everyone’s opinion and ideas that can help benefit the club as a whole. The S.A.L.S.A club is not just for those with Hispanic and Spanish decent, everyone is welcome. Come have fun and expand your knowledge on the different Latino cultures.
