As the Chief of Public Safety, I would like to welcome you to the Mount Ida College Department of Public Safety home page.
As a department we are constantly striving to better serve our community. This site is just one of many resources that the department utilizes to keep the community informed about the department, it's services, and initiatives.
The Mount Ida College Department of Public Safety is a full service department offering a broad range of services contracted by the college through Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. the largest provider of security services in the United States. Securitas USA affiliated companies are market leaders in providing security solutions, including uniformed officers, consulting, investigations, and security systems integration and have been providing Public Safety services to Mount Ida College since 1998.
Through the dedication of its officers and a commitment to community policing, the Mount Ida College Department of Public Safety strives to maintain a safe and secure environment in which the members of the community are free and able to grow and develop both individually and collectively as members of a diverse community of leaders.
While reported crime at Mount Ida College as well as the city of Newton in which the college is located is comparatively low, we must all keep in mind that crime does exist. Therefore members of the community are reminded to remain safety conscious and to report any crimes or suspicious activity to the Department of Public Safety immediately.
