Safety Measures
FIRE SAFETY EQUIPMENT
All Residence Halls and Academic buildings are equipped with Fire Safety warning devices, fire extinguishers and emergency pull stations. Anyone found tampering with any of these devices will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and will additionally face college sanctions as provided by Mount Ida College Policy.
CRIME REPORTS
The Department of Public Safety is required by law to keep records of crimes on property and to make that information available to all members of the community. Weekly and Monthly crime statistics are posted on the Public Safety information board located outside of the office in Shaw Hall. In addition the Department publishes an annual “Right to Know” pamphlet. Copies of this information can be obtained upon request at the Public Safety Office.
SAFETY PROGRAMS
The Department of Public Safety is committed to safety through education. As a result members of the Department present Safety Briefings and training during new student orientation, Resident Life Staff Training, and at other times throughout the academic year.
