The goal of this course is to introduce the principles of good lighting practice, together with information about hardware and aesthetics. Students will be introduced to the rule-of-thumb formulas, calculations, and technical terminology that are necessary to put theory into practice. Aesthetic factors (such as color rendition and psychological factors related to the nature of various light sources) are considered in the context of the importance of the ambiance produced by the creative use of lighting.
