Professor Megna has more than 30 years of practical experience in funeral service and believes that care, compassion, dedication and competence are the necessary skills to succeed as a funeral service practitioner. He currently owns and operates a funeral home in Massachusetts and integrates real-life examples and situations into the lessons presented in class.
Professor Megna received the Ronald J. Lettieri Award for Excellence in Teaching from Mount Ida College in May 2014 and received acknowledgement in the Who’s Who Among American Teachers during the 2004-2005 Academic Year.

Megna is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner in the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.
Professor Megna is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Mount Ida College Alumni Association, Class of 1984,National Science Teachers Association, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the New England Educational Assessment Network.
Professor Megna teaches Survey of Human Form and Function, Medical Terminology, Embalming Chemistry, Funeral Management Internship.
