Brian Wilson

Photography Program Coordinator Assistant Professor

M.F.A., Lesley University College of Art & Design
B.F.A., New England College

School of Design

Prof. Brian Wilson comes to Mount Ida College with extensive, exciting real-world experience in photography. Throughout this career, he’s had the opportunity to work on movie sets, photograph Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and to document the first simultaneous heart and lung transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital. He’s also worked in all aspects of the photography profession, with experience as a freelance photographer, institutional photographer, photo editor, photographer’s assistant, digital tech, and printer.

“I understand what art buyers are looking for, what it takes to get the job done in the studio, and how files should be delivered to clients from the post-production side. Photography can be a very rewarding career, however it’s not easy. You must really love the profession, and put in the work.” he says.

With his experience in the industry, Prof. Wilson knows that photography is always changing. He looks forward to sharing what he’s learned throughout his career with Mount Ida’s students.

“I love making images. I’ve had so many great mentors and teaching throughout my career and I want to pass along the knowledge I’ve learned to the next generation of image-makers.”
