Brian Cerone

Men's Basketball Coach

Brian Cerone joined the Mount Ida men’s basketball staff in 2011.
Previous to Mount Ida, Cerone coached at Umass-Boston for two years, where he helped the Beacons in all aspects of basketball including recruiting, practice planning, and creating all scouting reports. Prior to Umass-Boston, Cerone was an assistant coach at Hanover (MA) High School. Cerone helped his alma mater to two Division III state tournament appearances. Cerone, who played at Wheaton College in Norton, helped the Lyons to an ECAC Championship and an appearance in the NEWMAC championship game while an undergraduate student-athlete.
In high school, Cerone was a standout player both on and off the court. Cerone was a 1,000 point scorer and was named a Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic team honoree twice. In 2009, he graduated from UMass Boston with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, while in 2012 he earned a master’s degree in Secondary Education from Endicott College.
