Professor Fontana enjoys bringing the real-world experiences into her classroom. From her work in a clinical practice she shares with her students how communications with patients is a crucial part of dental care.

As the field is changing, she finds the digital and paperless advancements, neuromuscular treatment and sleep apnea screening to be among the most exciting advances in dentistry today

Professor Fontana is a public health dental hygienist, holds a Dental Hygiene license, Local Anesthesia License in Massachusetts, is CPR Certified and is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association.

Professor Fontana teaches Dental Radiology, Dental Materials, dental hygiene clinic and is the external clinical coordinator in addition to she teaches local anesthesia in continuing education to practicing dental hygienists.
