Where is Mount Ida located?
Our beautiful campus is conveniently located in Newton, Mass. just eight miles outside of Boston and MBTA-accessible via our convenient, free Mount Ida College shuttle. Click here for driving directions to campus and our shuttle schedule.
What are the capacities of your event spaces?
Mount Ida has a wide array of event facilities of varying sizes. Please contact Conferences and Events Services at (617) 928-4576 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your specific event needs.
What kinds of events can be held at Mount Ida College?
As an institution of higher learning, our rental facilities are available to academic, athletic, and community organizations, such as schools, professional associations, athletic teams, non-profits and summer camps. We are unable to accommodate private parties.
We host conferences, sports events, sports camps, and meetings of clubs or organizations. Examples of previous events held at Mount Ida include the Massachusetts Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE) conference, City of Newton retreats, and FC Bolts Soccer Club and Andy Yosinoff Cheer camps.
Does Mount Ida College provide overnight accommodations?
Yes, Mount Ida’s residence hall-style accommodations are available during the summer months.
Do you have tables, podiums and sound equipment available for use?
Yes, our conference spaces are fully equipped with audio-visual equipment and a wide selection of tables and podiums. Aramark, our catering provider, will supply you with table linens, silverware, plateware, and a delicious menu of your choosing. Our conferences and events team will work with you to plan, set up and execute the best seating, menu and audio-visual configuration for your event.
Does Mount Ida provide catering?
Mount Ida College is proud to offer Aramark Dining Services as the exclusive caterer for our campus. Aramark provides the highest quality food and service and is pleased to offer diverse catering options for groups of any size. They will custom design a catered event in a variety of meeting and event spaces across campus. Our Conferences and Events team has experience in planning a variety of events, from box lunches, upscale presentations to banquets, and we will be happy to offer ideas and work with you to develop a personalized menu for your event. Our experienced conferences and events team is dedicated to making your event a success and we are confident that your dining experience will be a memorable one for you and your guests.The full-service catering menu is available for review.
Are your facilities handicapped accessible?
Yes, all of our facilities are handicapped accessible.
Is parking available on campus?
Our Conferences and Events team can make arrangements for overnight parking. There are parking lots across campus; your conference planner will assign you one that is convenient for your group.
Mount Ida is also easily accessible by public transportation.
How do I get to Mount Ida by car?

How do I get to Mount Ida by public transportation?
- Take the Green Line, Branch D outbound to Newton
- Exit at the Newton Centre stop
- Look for the Mount Ida Shuttle Bus next to the inbound side of the Newton Centre stop on Braeland Avenue. Please refer to the Mount Ida Shuttle Bus Schedule for details on pickup and drop-off times.
- Another option is to take MBTA bus #52 in front of the First Baptist Church in Newton (848 Beacon Street, Newton, MA), the bus stops at Carlson Avenue near the entrance to Mount Ida College
