Welcome neighbor! Visit campus to explore our educational and recreational offerings designed with you in mind

Ever wonder what was beyond that Mount Ida sign on Dedham Street? We invite you, our Newton, Needham and nearby neighbors, to visit our beautiful 72-acre campus and learn about the educational and recreational opportunities available for you and the family to enjoy. Besides our best-in-class professional signature associate, undergraduate and master’s degree programs and continuing education programs, here is a small sampling of the community services and cultural and recreational resources we offer:

Longfellow Preschool. Has been serving the Newton community for nearly 45 years. This hidden treasure in the heart of campus enrolls a little more than 30 students per year, ages 2.9 to 5 years old. Our laboratory preschool also serves as a place of learning for our undergraduates enrolled in our Professional Studies in Education Program.

The Dental Education Center & Community Dental Clinic at Mount Ida. As part of the College’s Dental Hygiene Program, we offer basic preventative and restorative dental care services with an experienced visiting dentist at discounted rates. The Dental Education Center & Community Dental Clinic accepts MassHealth and other insurances.

Conference and Events. Does your nonprofit organization need space for its next conference or event? If your nonprofit shares our educational mission, contact Conferences and Events to learn more.

The Gallery at Mount Ida College. Enjoy the very best in regional, national and international design and fine art, including exhibitions of photography, painting, sculpture, video and other innovative art forms. The gallery is free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Senior Auditing Classes. Don’t miss our affordable, non-credit courses for our neighbors, age 62 and over. If you’re a resident of Newton and Needham, you pay just $25 per course. Enrich yourself and learn something new when you choose from a variety of undergraduate courses available for auditing.

Sporting Events. Cheer for our NCAA Division III Mustangs. About 25% of students play in one or more of our 16 varsity programs for men and women. Enjoy a football, soccer or lacrosse game at Alumni Field, our recently built all-season artificial turf field with lights, or go indoors to our Athletic Center for basketball and volley ball games to get even closer to the action.
