We’re here for you
Mount Ida Public Safety provides you a broad range of safety services and training opportunities for our community, including:
Uniformed Patrol Services
Public Safety maintains patrols of the campus on foot, on mountain bike, in marked cruisers and on electric golf carts. The routine patrols provide a visible deterrence to crime and readily deployable assistance to the college community as needed.
Reporting and Investigation Services
Public Safety investigates all crimes and accidents that occur within the college boundaries. The department will work with any outside law enforcement agencies conducting investigations on college property. Never hesitate to report an issue to the Office of Public Safety.
Public Safety provides escorts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., seven days a week. Get an escort by contacting Public Safety at (617) 928-4777 from your mobile phone or at x4777 on a campus landline phone.
Emergency Medical Services
Public Safety provides initial medical response to the entire Mount Ida campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and is equipped with full medical supplies, including oxygen and AED’s (automated external defibrillators). All officers are trained in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 111 Section 201.
Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.)
Co-sponsored with the Students Advocating Violence Education program, R.A.D., is designed for women to enhance self-awareness, practice physical defense techniques, and educate about sexual violence and typically is offered twice during the school year.
Training and Prevention Programs
Public Safety actively participates in diverse educational training and prevention programs. Contact Public Safety at (617) 928-4777 or at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like training in a particular.
