The Mount Ida Community is gearing up for our annual Homecoming and Family Weekend from Friday, October 4 – 6, 2013. Come visit campus, catch up with old friends and meet new ones. The programming this year is very exciting. Please register onsite at the info tent at Trustee Field.

Fri., October 4

All day – Mount Ida Day of Service

Join your fellow Mighty Mustangs for a day of service at Mount Ida College. Volunteers will work on projects that will benefit those in need and that of our campus community. Can’t make it but still want to help? Bring a canned good to any Homecoming event.

8:00 p.m. – Comedian Hal Sparks and Arvin Mitchell

Free! Limited seating so arrive early. Comedian and actor Hal Sparks, currently starring in the Disney XD show, LAB RATS and has starred in “Queer as Folk,” “Extract,” “Spiderman 2” and “ Dude, Where’s My Car?” Arvin Mitchell debuted on BET’s Coming to the Stage and was a runner-up on a comedy reality show.

Sat., October 5

7:30 a.m. – 5K Homecoming Walk/Run Registration and Breakfast

Athletic Center – $5.00 donation or a canned good to enter race. Race begins at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate in the first ever 5K race around our beautiful campus. Proceeds will go to the Mount Ida College Book Fund.

9:00 a.m. – Friends & Family Tailgating

$10 per car at Longfellow Parking Lot – Mustang Tailgating sections are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pack your hibachi, burgers and your chairs and head to campus early to get your prime tailgating spot. Alcohol is prohibited.

9:30 a.m. – Faculty workshops

Mount Ida faculty and administration will be facilitating a diversity of programs in their area of expertise that will engage and inform.

10:00 a.m. – New Campus Center Ribbon Cutting

Carlson Hall – Join President Barry Brown for the ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the new campus center and dining commons; light refreshments will be served.

10:30 a.m. – Coffee with the President

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, parents and family are invited for coffee talk with President Barry
Brown; he’ll share an update on the College’s new renovation projects, programs and plans.

10:30 a.m. – Brian Eyles Alumni Lacrosse Game

This year’s annual lacrosse reunion game will be played on the new Trustee Field. Join our alumni as
they play two games: one against the current team and alumni only game.

11:00 a.m. – Super Saturday Pancake Brunch

Free with a Mount Ida student meal plan, $5.00 for all others. Enjoy a pancake brunch with all your favorite pancakes and toppings with family and friends.

11:00 a.m. – Interviewing: From Both Sides of the Table Workshop

Learn the tricks of the trade when preparing for an interview, whether you are the one doing the interviewing or you are the one being interviewed.

11:30 a.m. – Alumni & Donor BBQ

Upper Athletic Field, Free for Alumni and Donors. Alumni and donors join us for a free BBQ lunch to eat great food, reminisce about the good ‘ole days and cheer on the Mustangs.

12: 00 p.m. – Pre-Game Festivities & Fall Fest

Lower Athletic Field. Show your school spirit for Mount Ida College Mustang Football! Come out for the spirit tunnel and cheer the team on before they hit the field.

12:00 p.m. – Mount Ida football vs. Gallaudet at Alumni Field

Cheer the Mustangs on to victory against Gallaudet College. Just prior to kick-off, join fans of all ages to form a spirit tunnel on the field. Go Mustangs! The concession tent will also be open throughout the afternoon’s events; proceeds will go directly to the Athletic Department.

12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Fall Fest

Lower Athletic Field. The place to be during the football game. Participate in a variety of events for the whole family. Jump as high as you can on the moon bounce. Challenge your family and friends to a game of Boulder Dash or Quarterback Blitz. Get your face painted or make the day memorable and
pose for pictures; make personal photo key chains. There is something fun for everyone.

2:45 p.m. – Boston Duck Tour & Dinner at Maggiano’s

Shaw Courtyard. Space limited. $60/person, includes dinner, tour and round-trip transportation.
History unfolds as you explore Boston by land and sea aboard the unique DUCKS, classic World War II amphibious vehicles. See Boston at its best and learn about local lore. Then, dine at Maggiano’s, one of Boston’s most popular restaurants. The family style atmosphere and food portions will not disappoint.

4:00 p.m. – Alumni Reception at Union Street Restaurant

Union Street Restaurant, Newton. $15.00/person. You must be 21 and older and an alumni to participate. Alumni may bring one guest. Reconnect, rekindle and renew friendships. Enjoy
drinks, food and friends. Register at the BBQ Tent or at Union Street.

4:30 p.m. – Taste of New England

$10.00 per person, Special Pricing for Mount Ida Students for deluxe meal only. Enjoy a wonderful dinner comprised of all your New England favorites. Fill your plates with delicious clam chowder or lobster bisque and more!

6:00 p.m. – Mount Ida Men’s Soccer vs. Lasell College at Alumni Field

8:00 p.m. – Roller Skating in Alumnae Hall

Sun., October 6

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Jazz Sunday brunch

Free with Mount Ida ID; $5.00 for family, alumni and friends. Experience smooth jazz sounds while enjoying Sunday brunch.

12:00 p.m. – Mount Ida Women’s Tennis vs. St. Joseph
