Mount Ida College Endowed or Named Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and friends, your financial aid award may also include a Named or Endowed Scholarship. Students are considered for funding based on criteria of the specific award.

The following scholarships are available for currently enrolled students. Eligibility criteria has been established for each scholarship. All eligible students are encouraged to apply by the established deadline. Individual applications are available under each scholarship description. Applications can be submitted in person to the Office of Student Financial Services or by email to Dyan Teehan, Director of Student Financial Services.

Please note, any student who applies after the established deadline will not be considered.

Carol J. Matteson Leadership Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College;
  2. Have a Cumulative GPA of 2.67 or above;
  3. Have COMPLETED/EARNED at least 30 credits, no more than 59 credits by the end of the Spring 2017 semester;
  4. Submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA Application and demonstrate financial need;
  5. Demonstrate leadership skills in the classroom and/or the settings in the campus community. The recipient must demonstrate leadership skills and potential through action and experience;
  6. Include with your application a REFERENCE from the Mount Ida College faculty and/or staff.

One recipient will be selected for $3,500
(renewable in 3rd and 4th year, if meet renewal criteria… $10,500 TOTAL!)

Claire Brooks-Ekker Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College;
  2. Have a GPA of 3.33 or above;
  3. Have earned at least 30 credits at the end of the Spring 2017 semester
  4. Demonstrate financial need as outlined on the 2017-2018 FAFSA;
  5. Demonstrate the following qualities: commitment to your major through involvement in clubs, internships, and other related activities.
  6. Submit a personal statement of interest/application including: commitment to your major through involvement in clubs, internships, and other related activities.(attach a separate form if necessary)

One recipient will be selected for $650!

Application deadline was May 1, 2017.

Jacqueline Palmer Award

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College;
  2. Have a GPA of 2.8 or above;
  3. Be a SPORT MANAGEMENT Major who has earned at least 30 credits at the end of the Spring 2017 semester.
  4. Submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA Application
  5. Demonstrate the following qualities: leadership, citizenship and contribution to the College community and Sport Management Program

Two recipients will be selected for $500 each!

Kenneth C. Barone Term Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (12 credits or more each semester) in a degree seeking undergraduate program at Mount Ida College;
  2. Preference given to GPA of 2.5 or higher;
  3. Have earned at least 60 credits, no more than 89 by the end of the Spring 2017 semester and;
  4. Submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA Application and demonstrate financial need
  5. Describe how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College

One recipient will be selected for $1,500!

Maxine Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (at least 12 credits fall and spring) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College, preferably from Massachusetts;
  2. Have a GPA of 2.5 or above;
  3. Have earned at least 30 credits by the end of the Spring 2017 semester
  4. Submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA Application and demonstrate financial need
  5. Submit by the established due date.
  6. Describe how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College

Two recipients will be selected for $1,250 each!

Application deadline was May 1, 2017.

 

School of Design Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be a full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College, majoring in a School of Design program.
  2. Have a CGPA (at the end of the Spring 2017 semester) of 3.0 or above.
  3. Have completed at least 30 credits at Mount Ida College by the end of Spring 2017
  4. Submit a 2017-2018 FAFSA Application and demonstrate financial need.
  5. Complete the scholarship application and provide supporting document(s) by the due date.
  6. Complete a personal statement: Describe how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College. Students are encouraged to highlight any extracurricular and/or industry engagement, especially as it relates to his or her design field.
  7. Provide one letter of recommendation from a School of Design faculty member.

Three recipients will be selected for $2,500 each!

Tamotsu Yamamoto Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more each semester) at Mount Ida College;
  2. Be an Interior Design major in the undergraduate program;
  3. Have earned at least 30 credits by the end of the Spring 2017 semester;
  4. Have submitted a 2017-2018 FAFSA application and demonstrate financial need;
  5. Submit one letter of recommendation from an Interior Design faculty member;
  6. Submit a personal statement of interest describing: 1) your commitment to your major through involvement in clubs, internships, and other related activities and; 2) how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College. (Attach a separate form if necessary)

Four recipients will be selected for $2,500 each!

The Dodge Family Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  1. Be full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College studying in the Funeral Service or Funeral Home Management programs
  2. Have earned at least 30 credits at the end of the Spring 2017 semester
  3. Submit a personal statement of interest describing how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College – attach as separate form if necessary

Two recipients will be selected for $1,500 each!

Carol J. Matteson Leadership Scholarship

The Board of Trustees of Mount Ida College authorized this scholarship fund in recognition to Carol J. Matteson, Mount Ida President from 2000 – 2010. If you are a full-time, undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need who has demonstrated leadership skills in the classroom and on campus, you may be nominated to be a recipient of this scholarship. ‘Matteson Scholars’ will be expected to work to achieve levels of academic excellence, leadership and community care for themselves and Mount Ida. The scholarship will be added to your financial aid package for the following academic year and is renewable if you maintain high academic and leadership standards defining the award. Tuition remission students are not eligible for this award.

School of Design Scholarship

The School of Design Scholarship nurtures learning in design disciplines by supporting students enrolled in a design program at Mount Ida College.  Full-time undergraduate School of Design students with 30 or more completed credits taken at Mount Ida College and a CGPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to help fund their design education. Recipients may be recognized at the annual Fashion Show with a special feature. 

To qualify for this scholarship opportunity, you MUST:

  • Be a full-time (12 credits or more each semester) undergraduate student at Mount Ida College, majoring in a School of Design program;
  • Have a CGPA (at the end of the Spring 2016 semester) of 3.0 or above;
  • Have completed at least 30 credits at Mount Ida College at the time of application by the End of Spring 2016;
  • Submit a 2016-2017 FAFSA Application and demonstrate financial need;
  • Complete the scholarship application and provide supporting document(s) by the due date;
  • Complete a personal statement: Describe how this scholarship will impact your financial and educational experience at Mount Ida College. Students are encouraged to highlight any extracurricular and/or industry engagement, especially as it relates to his or her design field;
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a School of Design faculty member.
