New student orientation
New Student Orientation is designed to introduce you to life here at Mount Ida College. This mandatory program for all incoming students, includes meeting your fellow classmates, exploring campus and participating in a variety of social events. During orientation, you will also create your fall class schedule. Know that whatever session you choose, our orientation leaders are here to help you get to know your new home – so come, bring questions and have fun.
Sample freshman student orientation schedule:
After a welcome by the President, you join your orientation group for a packed day of activities and workshops that will orient you to Mount Ida College and provide you with many opportunities to get to know your new classmates. Workshops include college expectations, advising and registration for your fall class schedule, a session with Financial Aid, lunch and dinner and an evening of activities to unwind and socialize with your new peers.
The morning starts with breakfast and skits, followed by lunch and a bringing it all together session. The day ends with the closing ceremony and ice cream social, where you can rejoin your parents and say goodbye to your new friends until you return for the fall semester.
Please note that transfer student orientations are just one-day events.
