Soon you will be attending your orientation session at Mount Ida College. We realize you have many questions about your new life at college. On this page, you will find the most frequently asked questions on attending orientation. If you have any questions, after reviewing this information, please contact the Office of Admissions.
Do I need to attend orientation?
Yes. Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students. As a new first-year, transfer or international student, our orientation programs provide you with the opportunity to get to know your community and meet your fellow classmates.
Is there an orientation fee?
There are no fees associated with the student orientation programs.
Can I bring a guest to orientation?
Orientation sessions are designed for the upcoming semester’s new students. Guests are not permitted at these events.
What should I bring to orientation?
If you are a resident student (living on campus), you will be moving into your room for the year during the morning of the first day, so please come prepared. Commuting students will not be staying overnight on campus.
Where do I go when I arrive for Orientation?
Students attending Session 5, please be prepared to arrive on campus between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to check in on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Clear signage will direct you to where you should park and where you should go with your belongings to check-in.
Students attending International Student Orientation should plan to arrive at 1:30 p.m. to check in on Monday, August 29, 2016.
I plan to commute, do I need to commute for Orientation?
Commuting students (living off campus) will not be staying on campus overnight.
Can I take public transportation to Mount Ida College?
The Mount Ida College shuttle has regular runs to the Newton Center MBTA stop on the Green “D” Line. MBTA buses also have stops near campus. To determine the best route for you, refer to the MBTA website at: http://mbta.com/, and go to the “Trip Planner” function. The address of the College is 777 Dedham, Street, Newton Center, MA.
