International admission application – First-Time Students

You are considered a first time international student if you have finished your high school/secondary education and do NOT hold U.S citizenship including green card.

We consider all students no matter their immigration status.

If you are applying as a freshman international student and have any questions, please contact our international student admissions specialist here. You may apply by submitting the following:

  • Our free online admission application or
  • Our free paper admission application you can print, complete and mail to us: Mount Ida College, Office of Admissions, 777 Dedham Street, Newton, MA 02459 or
  • Add us to your Common Application
  • Official transcripts sent from your high school(s) directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
  • English language proficiency scores such as TOEFL or IELTS, etc. If you are an international student from the Commonwealth Caribbean, Bermuda, Canada, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, you do not need to submit proof of English language proficiency.
  • You also may send SAT or ACT standardized test scores. They may be sent directly from the testing agency or indicated on your official high school transcript.
  • For students entering into any program in the School of Design (with the exception of Fashion Industry Marketing & Management), a portfolio is required. Please submit your portfolio here. If you have never prepared a portfolio before, basic instructions are provided at the link. Please note we encourage you to send your transcripts to Mount Ida as soon as possible.  Design students who complete the rest of their admissions file may be conditionally admitted pending review of their portfolio.

International admissions application – Transfer Students

You are considered a transfer student only if you have already taken university-level classes.

  • A course-by-course evaluation of the international transcript(s)/university grades that lists the equivalent degree/grades earned. This process must be completed through a certified credential evaluation service:
  • Center for Educational Documentation (CED)
  • World Education Services (WES)
  • Submission of English proficiency scores, if university/college is not English language based.
  • For students entering into any program in the School of Design (with the exception of Fashion Industry Marketing & Management), a portfolio is required. Please submit your portfolio here.
