Transfer Application

Have general questions? Feel free to e-mail the Office of Admissions at admissions@mountida.edu or call (617) 928-4553.

If you are a transfer student, you may apply by submitting the following:

Application – Submit either our own online application, add us to the Common Application, or print and mail the application. There is NO application fee for any option.

Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. If you are transferring fewer than 12 credits, please refer to the freshmen requirements.

We recommend writing a personal statement or essay, outlining your academic goals as a transfer student (we also accept the Common Application essay in place of this requirement).

We recommend you submit at least one letter of recommendation from a former professor or other person who can describe your academic abilities (we welcome more letters if you have them).

A portfolio submission is required for students applying for some programs. You can find instructions, requirements, and submit your portfolio by clicking below. Please note that we encourage students to send transcripts and other application documents as soon as possible as applicants who complete the rest of their admissions file can be conditionally admitted pending review of their portfolio.

Transfer Student Campus Visit

We strongly encourage you to schedule a campus visit. You may find it a great opportunity to ensure a good fit between you and Mount Ida. Visiting our beautiful, suburban Newton campus, learning about our career-focused degree options and seeing our close-knit community for yourself is a great way to know if Mount Ida is right for you.

International transfer students: If you do not speak English as your first language, then you must also submit a TOEFL score or other documentation of English proficiency. Please visit the International Student section for other requirements. You can also learn more about our on-campus ESL programs.

Transfer students interested in our Dental Hygiene program: Please review additional Dental Hygiene admission requirements, prerequisites and details in the College Catalog.
