Freshman Admission Application

If you are a high school student, you may apply by submitting the following:

  • Application –Submit either our own online application, add us to the Common Application, or print and mail the application. There is NO application fee for any option.
  • Transcript – An official transcript from your high school (or a copy of your GED or other equivalency credential).
  • Test Optional Policy – Mount Ida College is test optional for most of our programs, meaning we do not require SAT or ACT scores; however there are several exceptions. Students applying for medical, dental, pharmacy, or veterinary programs need to provide either SAT or ACT scores.
  • Essay and Recommendations – We strongly recommend applicants submit at least one letter of recommendation and an essay describing why you would be a good fit for Mount Ida College. We also accept Common Application essays in place of our essay.
  • Portfolio Requirement (School of Design Applications Only): A portfolio submission is required for students applying for any program within the School of Design (except for Fashion Industry Marketing & Management). You can find instructions, requirements, and submit your portfolio by clicking here. Please note that we encourage students to send transcripts and other application documents as soon as possible, as design students who complete the rest of their admissions file can be conditionally admitted pending review of their portfolio. This fall, The School of Design at Mount Ida College will be participating in a number of National Portfolio Day events throughout the Northeast. This is a great opportunity to meet with our faculty and admissions staff, get valuable feedback and learn more about applying.  You can learn more here about the process, locations and dates here. We look forward to meeting you!
