Bachelor of Science in Marketing

The Mount Ida College Bachelor of Science in Marketing embraces the evolution of the marketing discipline with a flexible and comprehensive curriculum designed to keep pace with innovation. We achieve this by incorporating the foundations of traditional marketing with the innovations of digital marketing and by integrating the values-based spirit of today’s consumer to create real meaningful value that aligns with the social good. A forward-looking marketing major must integrate traditional marketing with digital marketing. This integrated approach is what makes our program unique.

A major in marketing begins at the end — with consumers. However, marketing is more than launching an ad campaign that influences customers to purchase a product. Our students discover quickly that the rapidly-changing and integrated field of Marketing is about creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging products or services that provide value to customers, the organization, its stakeholders and society at large.

The Marketing program is a career-focused major that integrates marketing concepts in a technical and innovative setting as required by today’s dynamic and tech-savvy business landscape. We accelerate career readiness and success by designing, building and delivering an experience-based learning curriculum in the marketing discipline. Industry-trained and experienced faculty translate theory to practice; advising students through the diversity of the curriculum that includes project-based learning, simulations, international experiences, research, service learning, and internships. The degree serves those students who seek a personal, hands-on learning experience and the needs of the businesses that employ them.

Mount Ida will also help you find professional internship opportunities. Due to our proximity to the Greater Boston metropolitan area, a global business hub with a strong presence in financial services, higher education, life sciences, technology and other dynamic industries, you will have plenty of internship choices, along with the flexibility of choosing when you want to complete your internship (Fall, Spring or Summer).

The program develops graduates who work well on diverse teams, who can make decisions, solve problems, and who have the ability to communicate verbally with people inside and outside an organization. Equipped with these in-demand skills, students will be prepared for entry into marketing careers in business, government, public or social service organizations.

A private New England college, Mount Ida build its Marketing program on a strong foundation of traditional academic subjects that are founded on intellectual and personal growth, self-confidence, leadership, critical thinking and analysis and culturally responsible citizenship.
