Mount Ida College’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology for Business ensures our students will learn two languages: the language of business and the language of information systems. Our unique mix of information systems technology courses combined with core business courses provide students with an understanding of the processes and language of computer science and business. The Information Technology for Business degree emphasizes the technical aspects of the job, as well as the critical thinking and analytical skills required to be successful. Students are not only successful in the classroom, but will be ready to tackle the latest problems in our increasingly wired world. Mount Ida students will be learning on real-world contemporary information systems powered by cutting-edge state-of-the-art software and data base management tools. Information Technology for Business courses provides  you with hands-on experience in core functions such as:

  • Troubleshooting existing and new technology
  • Building, defending and protecting network and information systems

A private New England college, Mount Ida builds it’s Information Technology for Business program on a strong foundation of the liberal arts giving our students a strong foundation based on intellectual and personal growth, self-confidence, leadership, critical thinking and analysis, and culturally responsible citizenship. You will take courses in math, science, and the arts, along with Information Technology for Business courses focused on:

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology for Buiness requires 120 credits, broken down as follows:

  • 36 credits in required Information Technology for Business courses
  • 33 credits in core Business Administration courses
  • 39 credits in arts, sciences and humanities
  • 12 credits in open electives

A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology for Business prepares you to enter the workforce with a broad range of abilities you will need to hit the ground running in your information technology career. Graduates will call upon their analytical and creative skills to design and manage information systems that improve communication, efficiency, productivity, and security. Graduates of Mount Ida’s program can pursue jobs as database administrators, computer network architects, information security analysts, computer systems analysts and network computer systems administrators. Others may continue their studies by seeking a Master’s of Business Administration or other graduate business degrees, including Mount Ida’s very own Combined Bachelor Degree to Master of Science in Management (MSM) program. Our 4+1 option allows students to earn both an undergraduate and MSM degree in five years by starting graduate courses in their senior year.
