Build your HRM knowledge and skills while building your career
Understand and master the role of HR within the scope of a management degree
The goal of this rigorous program in Human Resource Management is to provide students with a solid foundation in both Human Resources and Management in an integrated, structured curriculum that focuses on best practice for HR professionals. The program is in alignment with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.
The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This alignment ensures depth and breadth in a state-of-the-art HR education. The result is graduates who are highly skilled HR professionals, uniquely prepared to address industry-specific challenges in today’s rapidly changing business environment.
In our career-relevant, experiential program, students gain a detailed understanding of management principles as well as developing expertise in core HR functions such as compensation, employment law and labor relations. Classes are taught by instructors with significant professional experience. Students apply concepts to real world case studies, business simulations and other scenarios. Every class involves some type of hands-on policy or process development.
The curriculum includes graduate management classes in finance, marketing, research methods, and strategy. The Human Resource Concentration courses have been designed to align with the SHRM curriculum guidelines and include:
- Compensation and Benefits
